About The Position

The Youth Sports Official officiates youth sports programs in accordance with the parameters established by the YMCA of Greater Louisville and supervises practices throughout the season. The role also includes maintaining fields and gyms safely and efficiently, building positive relationships with program participants, members, and staff, and monitoring program policies and procedures for programs, volunteers, and staff. The official should have a sincere interest in working with and teaching youth sports principles and Christian values.

This is a part-time position in Bullitt County, Shepherdsville, Kentucky, with a schedule of 10–20 hours per week and weekend availability required. The listed pay is $15.00 per hour. YMCA of Greater Louisville is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 15.
• Personal commitment to the YMCA mission, philosophy, and character development values.
• Personable, outgoing, and service oriented.
• Ability to resolve issues or conflicts on the field.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Available to work 10–20 hours per week, including weekends.
• Extremely organized, accurate, and proficient.
• Obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days.
• Able to hear, see, and speak.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Able to jog up and down a field or court.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with youth ages 3–14; training may be provided if the applicant does not have this experience.
• Athletic background.
