About The Position

As a Youth Sports Lead, you will be responsible for supervision, leadership, and motivation for participants in all youth sports programming under the supervision of the Program Director, ensuring a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Requirements

• Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One year or more of related experience.
• Able to officiate games according to the rules of the sport(s).
• Knowledge and skills in various sports activities and related equipment, and the ability to instruct participants in techniques.
• General understanding of specific sport(s) and the rules or display a willingness to learn.
• Positive attitude and are able to demonstrate a friendly, courteous and professional manner while working with members, parents and staff.
• Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead and participate in youth sports program activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
• Prepare lessons and practice plans.
• Assist and support under the direction of the Program Director
• Assist in recruiting and leading volunteers to assist with programming support
