This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work up to 39 hours per week. The pay range for this position is $22.53 - $28.17 per hour, based on experience. This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. In this position you can expect to work on site at Rude Recreation Center (2855 W. Holden Place, Denver) and at various recreation centers and parks across Denver. This position will work a variable schedule that includes evenings and weekends, up to 39 hours per week. The DPR system includes 30 recreation centers and nearly 20,000 acres of urban and mountain parkland including off-street trails, parkways and natural areas. With a staff of over 400 coaches and support staff across 28 of Denver’s 30 recreation centers, it takes a team of dedicated, diverse, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic professionals to ensure the highest-quality youth sports programs, safety, and customer service are being delivered to communities across Denver. The City and County of Denver’s Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is currently seeking an adept and accomplished administrative professional to join this team as Administrative Support Assistant supporting centralized operations for the Youth Sports Office and DPR’s network of facilities.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III).
  • Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
  • Requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or by the completion of probation. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, including experience addressing customer communications via email, phone, and in-person.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Previous experience in sports and/or recreation.
  • CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and demonstrate a high level of customer service by listening and responding to customer feedback in a timely and courteous manner through phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Collaborate with the Senior Recreation Supervisor and Program Administrator to identify and address administrative needs for the Youth Sports Program Area
  • Manage a high-volume email inbox to answer and dispatch communications to the appropriate individual or team
  • Assist with Youth Sports program registration and address registration requests from customers, as needed
  • Organize inventory, track assets, and purchase supplies and equipment for programs across Denver
  • Support league operations at various recreation centers and parks across Denver
  • Maintain records of employee certifications while proactively planning recertification opportunities for internal staff members
  • Contact coaching candidates to discuss employment opportunities, training registration, and placement
  • Travel between, deliver supplies to, and provide administrative support at recreation centers or parks, as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
