About The Position

This is not your typical library job. In this shared role, you'll have the chance to design imaginative programs, connect with the community, and spark a lifelong love of reading and learning. You'll work alongside another enthusiastic co-coordinator and the Library Director to ensure every program, activity, and daily responsibility is covered seamlessly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with coursework in education, library science or another related field supplemented by experience working with children or teens OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience working with children and/or teens
• Experience planning or leading programs for young people
• Creativity, energy, and a passion for inspiring children and teens
• Comfort with computers, office technology, and common software applications
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with diverse groups
• A collaborative mindset: the ability to work effectively with a co-coordinator to ensure all programs and responsibilities are covered
• Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a love for working as part of a team
• US citizens, or legal aliens authorized to maintain employment in the United States

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with older elementary-age children and teens is a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, interactive programs and activities for children and teens
• Participate in community outreach events
• Plan and participate in outreach activities with local schools, organizations, and community members
• Assist at the circulation desk
• Help patrons
• Shelve materials
• Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the library
• Collaborate closely with your co-coordinator to balance schedules, share responsibilities, and make every program a success
