About The Position

The purpose of this temporary position is to provide a variety of public service functions, including delivering quality customer service to all library patrons, managing library materials, and providing youth programming. This role requires frequent customer interaction and the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently. The duration of this temporary position is from November 11, 2026, to February 2, 2027.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Paid or volunteer experience working with youth.
Experience planning and/or presenting programs to appropriate audiences using books, crafts, and other activities.

Nice To Haves

Some college coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides youth programming, readers' advisory, and outreach services to library patrons.
Assists patrons with selecting materials and using digital resources.
Plans and presents weekly story times for children of various ages to meet the needs of the community.
Records program attendance for statistical purposes.
Coordinates and maintains library displays in the Youth Services area of the library.
Responds to routine patron inquiries in person, by telephone, and through other communication channels.
Pulls, processes, and manages requested library materials.
Shelves, straightens, and maintains library collections in proper order.
Conducts shelf reading and searches for lost or missing materials.
Maintains a welcoming, organized, and customer-focused library environment.
Performs other duties as required.
