About The Position

This position provides psychiatric-mental health nursing care for 18 residents at the Whitaker PRTF. Care includes diagnosis and treatment of human responses to actual and potential mental and medical problems. The role involves planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for residents.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in human services or related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; or
  • High school or General Educational Development diploma and four years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPR certification as required by facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to establish good working relationships with paraprofessionals, professionals, residents, and parents.
  • Knowledge of practical application of task analysis and goal setting with BED/BEH residents.
  • Working knowledge of problems and needs of severely emotional and assaultive youth.
  • Ability to work and plan with clinical staff in assessing child behavior and planning and implementing treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provides psychiatric-mental health nursing care.
  • Diagnoses and treats human responses to actual and potential mental and medical problems.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for residents.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in NVCI/APT, CPR, and Fire Safety Training.
  • Reports or stays over during adverse weather events as this position is designated as mandatory.
