The Safe Routes to School Youth Program Coordinator creates programs that provide opportunities for high school students to build transportation skills, explore their city using multimodal options, and become leaders in shaping safer streets and school communities. This position develops youth-oriented and youth-driven programming that combines transportation education, civic engagement, leadership development, and real-world travel experiences. The Youth Program Coordinator partners closely with youth, internal teams, school districts, school communities, and community partners to develop programming that empowers youth voices and participation in designing Portland. The successful candidate is a member of the Safe Routes to School Section within the Portland Bureau of Transportation’s (PBOT) Mobility and Safety Programs (MSP) Division.
