Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 1–2 years working with youth or vulnerable populations.
Valid NC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Conducts street-based outreach to engage runaway and homeless youth (ages 12–24) across Charlotte.
Builds trusting relationships over time, assesses immediate safety and basic needs, and connects youth to shelter, crisis services, and longer-term supports.
Works to reduce risks for youth, promote their health and well-being, and link them to the resources they need.
Provides consistent, low-barrier engagement using a trauma-informed and youth-centered approach.
Serves as a key link between runaway and homeless youth and the broader system of care.
Focuses on building trust, raising awareness, and providing guidance to youth both on the streets and through collaborations with schools, community centers, and other service providers.
Conducts outreach activities on foot and by vehicle in targeted areas across The Relatives’ service region.
Safely operates agency vehicles to provide transportation for youth as needed.
