About The Position

The YOP Shop Coordinator provides front-line support to high-risk teens and young adults who walk in or call the YOP Shop during operating hours. This role ensures the YOP Shop is open, welcoming, and staffed according to schedule, assists youth with immediate needs, and completes required tracking and documentation. The Coordinator connects youth to appropriate internal staff and community resources by following established procedures and program guidelines.

  • Ability to organize daily tasks and manage time during scheduled work hours.
  • Demonstrated empathy and commitment to supporting vulnerable youth.
  • Ability to identify issues and report concerns to the Program Manager.
  • Basic problem-solving skills within defined program parameters.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Related experience or training required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with individuals and small groups.
  • Basic computer and office equipment skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the YOP Shop is open and accessible during scheduled hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
  • Greet, check in, and assist youth who walk in or call the YOP Shop.
  • Track all contacts and services provided using the agency’s clinical database and required tracking tools.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming workspace.
  • Assist youth with immediate needs using approved program procedures.
  • Conduct initial screening to determine the appropriate level of support and referral.
  • Provide information about available behavioral health, physical health, employment, education, and housing resources.
  • Refer youth to appropriate YOP team members based on age, housing status, and identified service needs.
  • Maintain and update lists of youth needing follow-up or case management and route information to the Program Manager or assigned staff.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of all walk-in and call-in contacts to meet program and funder requirements.
  • Audit electronic and paper records to ensure documentation is complete and meets internal standards and Community Shelter Board monitoring guidelines.
  • Maintain working relationships with referring agencies and community partners to support youth access to services.
  • Coordinate and host meetings with referring entities, community partners, or youth focus groups as scheduled and directed.
  • Monitor and restock supplies, snacks, and donated items as needed.
  • Meet established productivity and documentation standards.
  • Serve on agency committees as assigned.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
