About The Position

The Youth Ministry Director leads and oversees the Young Life Military program, known as Club Beyond, an ecumenically focused and outreach-oriented ministry serving teenagers from active-duty military families. The role builds a safe, Christ-centered community where teens can develop friendships, hope, resilience, and a sense of belonging amid frequent moves and transitions. Staff serve by being present in teens’ lives, walking alongside them, and sharing the truth of God’s love and purpose. The director develops relationships with teens, adults, the local community, the military installation, and the chapel community. The role includes outreach to teens who are not involved in church, discipleship for Christian teens, and equipping volunteers to lead middle- and high-school Christian youth programs. Staff must be prepared for frequent turnover among teens, families, chaplains, and volunteers, and must embrace the influence of military culture. Staff are required to live near the community where they serve. The position requires a willingness to make a three-year commitment and to raise part of the budget through personal support. Club Beyond describes its ministry as Christ-centered, exclusively military-focused, incarnational in its methods, and ecumenical in perspective. It leverages strategic partnerships and values professionalism and excellent stewardship. The listed opening is at Fort Rucker, Alabama; the organization also has openings at other U.S. and international military installations.
