About The Position

The PRTF Youth Mentor will provide direct supervision and support to youth during assigned shifts. This role involves building positive relationships, assisting with daily living activities and personal development goals, and facilitating various activities. The mentor will implement treatment plans, monitor resident behavior, and ensure accurate documentation. Responsibilities also include assisting with transportation, conducting safety checks, responding to crises, and maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to work with youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges.
CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Prevention/Intervention certification (or ability to obtain).
Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with youth, behavioral health, social services, education, or residential care preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and support to youth during assigned shifts.
Build positive, professional relationships with residents.
Assist youth with daily living activities, routines, and personal development goals.
Facilitate recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities.
Implement treatment plans and behavior support strategies as directed.
Monitor resident behavior and document observations accurately.
Assist with transportation to appointments, school, and community activities.
Conduct room checks, safety checks, and facility inspections as required.
Respond appropriately to behavioral crises and emergency situations.
Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution skills.
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.
Complete required documentation and reports before the end of each shift.
Attend staff meetings and mandatory training sessions.
