About The Position

SAFY is seeking a PRN Youth Group Leader for our Pickens County division in South Carolina. As a Youth Group Leader you will be responsible for leading, and preparing for, weekly group meetings with participating youth. Spanish speaking required. Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1 years of group experience, as a participant and/or leader
  • Valid driver license, acceptable driving record and auto insurance coverage to meet travel requirements; may require transporting youth if needed.
  • Spanish speaking required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead youth skill based group weekly (12 week cycle) while implementing evidence based curricula with fidelity.
  • Determine roles and responsibilities with the other youth group leaders for conducting group sessions.
  • Prepare handouts and incentives for group participants.
  • Finalize details and set up group room for each session. Clean up and complete paperwork at the end of each session.
  • Meet with co-leaders after group sessions to review and debrief. Plan for how to address any unresolved issues.
  • Review the session to be implemented for the following week from the youth group leader manual. Review the group leader manual so you are aware of material being covered in the family group session.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of SAFY staff by participating in joint meetings, and problem identification and resolution.
  • Establish and maintain a supportive and positive working relationship with youth, foster parents, referring agencies, and other SAFY stake holders.
  • Attend relevant in-house and external seminars, trainings, conferences and workshops to develop and enhance knowledge in the designated area as well as achieve relevant education hours per year to enhance professional and job related skills.
  • Attends required meetings within division, region, and central office (team and/or community partners).
  • Participate in assigned committees and chairs if so appointed. If appointed, maintains liaisons with state and national organizations.
  • Meets regularly with supervisor to discuss issues and performance.
  • Submit monthly/quarterly reports to immediate supervisor.
  • Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences of staff, SAFY youth, foster parents, referral sources and the public.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Benefits

  • $100.00 per completed session. a) This is inclusive of travel time, session time, session prep time and SAFY required trainings.
  • $25.00 (paid to 2 employees per session to assist with setup, if applicable)
  • $50.00 Booster Session (Completed 90 days following the end of each cohort)
  • $200.00 is paid at time of completion for each of the following Children’s Trust trainings: a) In Person Training b) Online Training
