About The Position

This role involves leading and managing the daily operations of a 24/7 close custody living unit at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. The position is an integral part of the facility's leadership team, overseeing the care, supervision, control, and rehabilitation of adjudicated youth and those from the Department of Corrections within a secure correctional environment. The aim is to foster a living unit culture and environment rooted in a developmental approach through fundamental practices. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the living unit and the facility as a whole. The position provides leadership and oversight within a closed-custody living unit serving up to 16 youth, establishing a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. It also provides leadership and support to direct-care staff through coaching, training, mentorship, and performance management, with a key focus on fostering a treatment-focused milieu that promotes safety, accountability, positive behavior, and progress toward individualized treatment goals.

Requirements

  • Four Years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
