About The Position

This position involves leading and managing the daily operations of a 24/7 close custody living unit at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. The role is integral to the facility's leadership team, overseeing the care, supervision, control, and rehabilitation of adjudicated youth and those from the Department of Corrections within a secure correctional environment. The aim is to foster a developmental approach to the living unit culture and environment through fundamental practices. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the living unit and the facility as a whole. The position provides leadership and oversight within a closed-custody living unit serving up to 16 youth, establishing a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment. It also offers leadership and support to direct-care staff through coaching, training, mentorship, and performance management, with a focus on a treatment-focused milieu that promotes safety, accountability, positive behavior, and progress toward individualized treatment goals.

Requirements

  • Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
  • Must consent to a criminal records/background check.
  • Must consent to a vulnerable population abuse and neglect check.
  • Must be able to fill out the US Department of Homeland Security’s I-9 form confirming ability to work in the US.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States (verified by E-Verify).

  • Serve as a mandatory reporter of child abuse.
