About The Position

The Youth Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing youth enrichment experiences at the Old Colony YMCA – Stoughton Branch, with a primary focus on KidZone and birthday party programming. This position will lead and support the staff who run these programs, ensure they are safe and engaging, and help create a positive experience for children and families. The goal is simple: create quality youth experiences that make children excited to be at the Y and families confident in choosing the YMCA.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in a YMCA, childcare, camp, recreation, sports, or youth program setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Positive, energetic, and dependable.
  • Comfortable leading staff and working directly with children and families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Must complete all required YMCA training and background screening.
  • Must be 18+

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or staff supervision experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of KidZone and birthday party programming.
  • Schedule, lead, and support KidZone and birthday party staff.
  • Be present and actively involved in assigned weekend birthday parties.
  • Ensure birthday parties are prepared, organized, fun, and age-appropriate.
  • Help plan and lead games, sports activities, movement activities, and other youth activities.
  • Ensure KidZone provides a safe, clean, welcoming, and engaging environment.
  • Ensure children are properly supervised and participating in positive activities.
  • Make sure staff follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and child supervision standards.
  • Hire, train, coach, and support all KidZone and birthday party staff.
  • Set clear expectations and help staff provide excellent service to children and families.
  • Build a positive and accountable team environment.
  • Monitor staffing needs and assist with scheduling and coverage.
  • Communicate staff concerns and program needs to the Sports & Program leadership team.
  • Manage staff scheduling for Kid Zone and Birthday Parties and cover shifts as needed.
  • Welcome and build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Respond to questions and concerns in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Help families connect with other YMCA programs, events, and services.
  • Support YMCA Family Events/Open Houses as needed.
  • Represent the Old Colony YMCA and its values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Help develop new activities and experiences for children.
  • Look for ways to improve KidZone and birthday party programming.
  • Gather feedback from families and staff.
  • Support youth and family events and other programs within the Sports & Program Department.
