About The Position

This role is for an after-school program in Sedro-Woolley where the professional will create a safe, supported, and inclusive space for children. Responsibilities include assisting with homework, leading activities, engaging in games, and helping groups refocus. The core of the job lies in building meaningful relationships with youth by being consistent, attentive, and supportive. The ideal candidate is dependable, positive, and comfortable in a dynamic environment. While not expected to have all the answers, they should be able to think critically, remain patient, and connect with young people effectively. This position requires meeting Washington State requirements for licensed childcare, including background checks, specific training, and health documentation (TB test, MMR vaccination/immunity). Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Staff working with middle school youth must be at least 21, and those working with high school youth must be at least 23. The job emphasizes the impact of consistent presence and support in the lives of young people.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old.
