About The Position

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF) is seeking a part-time Youth Development Coordinator, Floater to provide flexible program and departmental support across the Mission and Columbia Park Clubhouses. This role works under the direct supervision of Clubhouse leadership and engages with youth ages 6-18. BGCSF has a mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Requirements

  • Passion for working with youth ages 6–18
  • Previous work or volunteer experience (e.g., customer service, education, security, community programs)
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational, and self-starter abilities
  • Desire to co-facilitate and support teammates in program execution
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.
  • Completion of LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test as part of the hiring process.

Nice To Haves

  • Education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related fields
  • 1+ year of experience in a youth development setting
  • Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
  • Bilingual abilities
  • Active driver's license

Responsibilities

  • Leads and assists with drop-in activities, tutoring, and structured programs for youth ages 6–18.
  • Supports Clubhouse Supervisors and Directors with administrative needs such as daily data entry.
  • Runs games, drop-in activities, homework help, and age-appropriate educational activities that foster creativity and active exploration.
  • Communicates the importance of academic success, high school graduation, and post-secondary planning (college, vocational training, or workforce entry).
  • Safeguards member safety and maintains confidentiality at all times across all Club sites.
  • Supports Club sites in taking daily program attendance and inputting reporting data as assigned.
  • Works alongside volunteer tutors and students to participate in ongoing educational improvement programs.
