Youth Development Center Teaching Assistants
About The Position
The Youth Development Center Teaching Assistant nurtures and educates children ages 0–5 in a licensed childcare and preschool center environment. The role supports early childhood development by implementing age-appropriate curriculum and weekly lesson plans prepared by the classroom Teacher, while helping maintain a safe, clean, organized, and high-quality learning environment. The Teaching Assistant serves as a positive role model, communicates with parents by providing updates and answering questions, responds promptly and effectively to unexpected situations and emergencies, and participates in staff meetings. The YMCA provides CPR and First Aid certification and child abuse prevention training, which must be completed within 90 days of hire. Available Monday–Friday shifts are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and 10:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Embody the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Complete CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire; training is provided by the YMCA.
- Complete child abuse prevention training within 90 days of hire; training is provided by the YMCA.
