About The Position
The Afternoon Teaching Assistant provides care for 3-5 year olds in a childcare and preschool center environment. This job is located at the Family Wellness facility at 2700 46th Ave. SE in Mandan. We offer a fun, rewarding work environment and FREE YMCA & Family Wellness Membership for all staff members!
Requirements
- Displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Ability to handle competing demands and take direction from the Teacher.
- Ability to effectively communicate with parents and Teacher regarding the child's activities, behavior, eating, etc.
- Candidates ages 14 and older.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Be a role model
- Assure that children receive proper feeding, playtime, learning activities, naps, and bathroom breaks
- Assure child safety by understanding and following safety and security procedures
- Observe children and communicate appropriately with Teachers and parents
- Attend and be an active participant at staff meetings
