About The Position

Join the Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) as a Purchasing Agent at the Loysville Youth Development Center. Requirements

• Three years of experience in purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, or services; or
• Three years of experience in requisitioning, receiving, storing, distributing, and maintaining inventory of goods; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Post-high school education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Be able to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procurement documents by researching contracts, reviewing requests, and drafting bid proposals.
• Organize service contracts and consult with monitors to confirm needs and requirements.
• Maintain organized procurement files, catalogs, vendor lists, and inventory records.
• Contact vendors to obtain pricing, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on deliveries.
• Allocate purchasing card charges, reconcile statements, and prepare monthly logs.
• Provide backup support for mail processing, warehouse deliveries, and routine purchasing issues.
