About The Position

As a Youth Detention Security Officer - Site Monitor in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government facility, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, controlling access, and communicating professionally with staff and visitors. You will remain highly visible to help deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service. Requirements

• Meet COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• Have at least six months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities at a government juvenile services location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, manage visitor sign-in processes, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, parking areas, and the perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, visitor records, incident reports, and other required documentation while communicating professionally with site personnel and the public.
