About The Position

AKHIRE is recruiting a full-time Youth Caregiver in Palmer, Alaska. The role involves creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for children; supervising them during daily activities, meals, and outdoor play; and encouraging learning through play and other hands-on activities. The caregiver also helps keep the classroom organized, clean, and supplied with learning materials. The position answers to the Center Administrator or Care Manager and includes onboarding new staff and reviewing timecards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR and First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain them.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or youth program experience is preferred.
• CDA Credential, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related education is a plus.

Responsibilities
