Youth Caregiver
About The Position
AKHIRE is recruiting a full-time Youth Caregiver in Palmer, Alaska. The caregiver fosters a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for children; supervises them during daily activities, meals, and outdoor play; and encourages learning through play, creativity, reading, and hands-on activities. The role also involves maintaining classroom organization, cleanliness, and learning materials, participating in staff meetings and ongoing training, and following company policies and childcare licensing requirements. The caregiver may onboard new staff and review timecards, must be able to multitask, and answers to the Center Administrator or Care Manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to multitask.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day.
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, or youth program experience is preferred.
- CDA credential, Early Childhood Education coursework, or related education is a plus.
