About The Position
Old Colony Y is seeking a passionate Youth Care Advocate to join their Family Based Services program. This role involves mentoring and supporting young people who are facing challenges at home, school, and in the community. The advocate will provide after-school support, crisis intervention, teach life skills, and connect families with resources to help youth build confidence and thrive.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or five years of human services experience (internships and volunteer work count).
- A valid driver's license.
- A reliable vehicle for transporting program youth throughout the Brockton and Taunton communities.
- Flexibility, caring attitude, and readiness to support youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide after-school support to teens.
- Engage in crisis intervention.
- Teach life skills.
- Connect families with community resources.
- Attend family nights to foster stronger connections.
- Transport youth to community opportunities.
- Facilitate positive group activities.
