About The Position

The California Opportunity Youth Apprenticeship Program (COYA) is a partnership between the Amity Foundation, ELAC, and Cuesta College Registered Apprenticeship Programs. This program offers a pathway to a career in Substance Use and Behavioral Disorder Counseling, including college education, hands-on training, and career development support. Participants will receive free program-specific instruction (in-person or online) and complete 2,000 hours of paid fieldwork. A total educational stipend of $2,450 is distributed in 4 payments throughout the program. This apprenticeship is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others and making a difference in their community, providing the skills and credentials needed for success in the field.

Requirements

• Must be 18-24 years old at the time of enrollment.
• Identify with at least one of the following at the time of enrollment: Current or former foster youth, Current or formerly Pell eligible, Current or formerly WIOA eligible, Currently or formerly enrolled in a Title I school, Residing in a high poverty census tract area, Formerly incarcerated, Youth parent, Person with a disability.
