Technician Apprenticeship program
About The Position
Stocker Automotive's Technician Apprenticeship program is looking to expand. As a Technician Apprentice, you will start by learning and performing basic tasks in the express lube service, including changing engine oil, rotating tires, and completing multi-point vehicle inspections. Concurrently, you will complete manufacturer-provided web-based training to build a foundation for a successful technician career. These courses cover essential skills such as using Service Information for diagnostics and repairs, following a strategy-based diagnostic system, documenting work, understanding safety requirements, and grasping basic electrical principles. Throughout this learning process, you will be paid. Upon completing the fundamentals, you will delve deeper into various vehicle subsystems like braking, steering and suspension, electrical, engines, and transmissions. You will continue to be paid while learning and will receive pay raises as you complete certifications. In the second phase, you will continue working in the express bay and also gain in-depth experience by assisting senior technicians during downtime. This hands-on training will prepare you to obtain your Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions license, enabling further advancement. During this phase, you will continue with manufacturer web-based training and begin attending virtual classroom and hands-on manufacturer training sessions. As you transition into the third phase, you will work one-on-one daily with a senior technician and move out of the express lube bays. You will be provided with a starter set of tools valued at $10,000, which will become your personal property upon program completion. The mentoring technician will provide additional training and knowledge to help you become a productive technician, offering a unique learning experience not available at college or vocational schools. Once you demonstrate the ability to work independently, you will transition to working on your own, with your mentor overseeing and assisting only as needed. Upon completion of this program, you will possess the training and ability to work unassisted on customer vehicles, performing a variety of diagnostics and repairs.

- Working daily one on one with a senior technician
- Transitioning out of the express lube bays
- Working independently on customer vehicles performing a multitude of diagnostics and repairs
