About The Position

The Youth & Activities Team Lead at Kalamazoo Country Club is responsible for maintaining a safe and engaging environment for children while supporting the team and providing excellent service to members. This role involves direct supervision of children, encouraging team members, assisting with programming, communicating with parents, and ensuring operational efficiency of childcare facilities and entertainment areas. The position also requires contributing to operational improvements and fostering a positive atmosphere.

Requirements

  • 21+ years old
  • Must enjoy working with children of all ages.
  • Must have flexibility with work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be CPR/Child Infant and CPR/AED certified or be willing to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Ability to pass an annual background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in hospitality, education, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in a leadership or administrative position is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active focus on all children, providing caring, energetic attention and consistent direction.
  • Encourage and support the team of attendants to ensure excellent care for children and service to members.
  • Assist supervising manager with training new staff.
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and implementing summer camp programming.
  • Communicate clearly and supportively with parents regarding children’s needs, behavior, and related issues.
  • Accurately complete and maintain procedures for registration, daily sign-in/out, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, and furniture within the childcare facilities, bowling alley, movie theater, and arcade.
  • Provide practical support, problem solving, and excellent customer service during the daily operations of the childcare facilities, bowling alley, movie theater, and arcade.
  • Provide feedback to management about improvements that could be made regarding programming, planning, organizing, and policies.
  • Work as a team member to provide a high level of service to members.
  • Attend all required meetings and staff training.
  • Smile and provide a positive environment for all members, staff, and guests.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
