About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team. This role is critical to building high-quality used vehicle inventory by capitalizing on the 30+ vehicles entering our service drive daily and through proactive equity mining of our existing customer base. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, skilled negotiator, and thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment. You will work closely with the service department and sales team to acquire vehicles at the right price, helping us maintain a competitive used car inventory.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of meetings or exceeding acquisition volume and conversion targets in a dealership environment.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills with a proven ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with automotive valuation tools and CRM system.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday 7am-
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and high integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage customers dropping off vehicles for service. Appraise vehicles, identify purchase/trade opportunities, and negotiate fair offers.
  • Proactively contact previous customers (via phone, email, text, and CRM tools) to identify equity positions. Present compelling buyback or trade-in offers.
  • Perform accurate vehicle appraisals using tools such as Kelley Blue Book, Black Book, Manheim, and on-site inspections.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with service customers and past owners to create a consistent pipeline of acquisition opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Service Department, Sales Team, and Finance & Insurance (F&I) to ensure smooth transitions from acquisition to retail.
  • Accurately document all deals in the dealership’s CRM and inventory management system.
  • Stay current on market trends, wholesale values, and local demand for specific make/models.
  • Meet or exceed monthly acquisition targets (minimum 20–30 total vehicles per month from combined service drive and equity mining, with a focus on high-margin inventory).
  • Track and report key performance metrics including engagement rate, conversion rate, gross profit per acquisition, and inventory quality.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with dealership policies, state regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Assist with service department phone calls with appointment making ability.
