About The Position

The YFS – Career Coach is responsible for a variety of duties related to providing skills training and support at work sites including Oregon Department of Human Services branch offices and in private and/or public employer worksites. Skills training includes but not limited to; supporting participant to achieve a goal of employment, schedule planning, self-care, medication management, referrals to mental health/anger management, and assistance with meeting recovery goals. Preference given to bilingual English/Spanish.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least two (2) years' experience or additional education in providing job skills training.
Must be able to operate a computer with working knowledge of word processing software; including cloud-based software.
Must have knowledge of standard workplace expectations and soft skills, job search, interviewing and hiring practices.
Must have current Oregon driver's license, acceptable driving record, and qualify for employer-provided insurance coverage.
Must pass required criminal history and other background screenings.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) year degree in a related field preferred.
Candidates who demonstrate the ability to assist participants in moving through several key pre-employment stages that employers use to evaluate and on board candidates before hiring them.
IMatch experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong reading, writing, and communication skills in both languages.
