About The Position

The Yardman/Laborer is responsible for safely performing basic operations and maintenance tasks at Calumet’s Great Falls Refinery. This is a contingent position with full-time hours and benefits and a one-year probationary period. The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and in varied plant environments, including confined spaces, heights, and storage tanks. The role requires a rotating 12-hour day/night schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 or more pounds.
Ability to climb on and off towers and ascend and descend ladders; must not have a fear of heights.
Ability to wear a respirator as needed for tasks.
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
Environmental and safety awareness.
Ability to cooperate and work well with others in one-on-one or group situations.
Ability to contribute actively to team objectives, take on responsibilities, and be accountable for actions.
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including aptitude tests, a drug screen, and a background check.

Three to five years of industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow safety rules and operating procedures in support of zero-tolerance safety objectives.
Climb ladders and tanks or vessels.
Lift continuously throughout the day.
Turn valves.
Load trucks and railcars with product.
Perform various maintenance duties throughout the plant.
Operate a variety of equipment in accordance with policies, regulations, and safety procedures.
Work in diverse environments, including confined spaces, heights, and storage tanks.
Complete and maintain required daily paperwork.
Assist refinery personnel as directed.
