About The Position

As a Yard Worker, you will help keep daily lumber yard operations running smoothly. This hands-on role involves handling, organizing, loading, and unloading building materials; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; and assisting customers and delivery drivers. It requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. The ideal candidate enjoys active work, collaborating with others, helping customers, and learning new skills. Requirements

Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional attitude.

Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to customers.
Accurately select, prepare, and load building materials into customer vehicles.
Safely operate a forklift to unload incoming deliveries and load customer and company delivery trucks.
Receive, organize, and stock inventory in designated areas.
Handle lumber, roofing supplies, concrete products, pipe, railroad ties, fencing, gates, and other building materials.
Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Follow company safety procedures and guidelines.
Work cooperatively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
