About The Position

The Yard/Warehouse Rep I is an entry-level position responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. The role includes safely operating a forklift to stock lumber and building materials and performing duties according to established work and safety procedures. The position also supports an organized warehouse, provides customer service, and helps maintain accurate, damage-free operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Ability and willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and supervisors verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Proficiency with, or ability to learn, current technologies such as smartphones, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Assist warehouse associates and the direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment.
• Keep bays and staging areas clean and organized, including emptying trash receptacles as needed.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Count and record received materials.
• Stock materials in appropriate bins or storage locations.
• Assist inventory control with counting and organizing warehouse materials.
• Operate a forklift using foot and hand controls.
• Use a forklift to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment, as needed.
• Operate facility equipment as necessary, including a bander, power tools, and hand tools.
• Monitor inventory as required by location management.
• Remain aware of the work environment to produce accurate, damage-free results.
• Perform other duties as assigned, comply with company policies and standards, adhere to workplace safety commitments, and complete assigned training.
