About The Position

The Yard/Warehouse Rep I is an entry-level position responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. The role operates a forklift safely to stock lumber and building materials and performs duties according to established work and safety procedures. The position also supports an organized, clean work environment, assists with inventory control, and provides customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
• Ability and willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and supervisors verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
• Proficiency with, or ability to learn, current technologies such as smartphones, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Assist warehouse associates and the direct supervisor in maintaining an organized work environment, including emptying trash receptacles and keeping bays and staging areas clean and organized.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials; count and record receipts.
• Stock received materials in appropriate bins or storage locations.
• Assist inventory control with counting and organizing warehouse materials, and monitor inventory as required by location management.
• Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls, including building outgoing orders and loading completed orders onto delivery equipment when needed.
• Operate facility equipment as necessary, such as a bander, power tools, and hand tools.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Maintain awareness of the work environment to achieve error-free and damage-free results.
• Perform other duties as assigned, comply with company policies and standards, adhere to workplace safety commitments, and complete assigned training.
