About The Position

The Yard/Warehouse Rep I receives, stocks, ships, orders, and counts inventory items. This entry-level position is responsible for safely operating a forklift to stock lumber and building materials and for performing duties in accordance with established work and safety procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
Ability and willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, employees, and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
Proficiency with, or ability to learn, current technologies such as smartphones, inventory control systems, and other necessary business applications.

Responsibilities

Operate safely and contribute to a positive work environment.
Help warehouse associates and the direct supervisor maintain an organized work environment, including emptying trash receptacles and keeping bays and staging areas clean and organized.
Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials; count and record received materials.
Stock materials in appropriate bins or storage locations.
Assist inventory control with counting and organizing warehouse materials.
Operate a forklift with foot and hand controls; use it as needed to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment.
Operate facility equipment as needed, including a bander, power tools, and hand tools.
Monitor inventory as required by location management.
Maintain awareness of the work environment to produce error-free and damage-free results.
Provide excellent customer service.
Perform other assigned duties, comply with policies and standards, adhere to workplace safety commitments, and complete assigned training.
