About The Position

The Yard Specialist maintains the organization of the yard by loading and unloading materials, managing inventory, and following safety protocols. The role operates equipment and vehicles and coordinates with team members and supervisors to support productivity and resolve issues. The position helps facilitate the timely movement of goods to meet customer demands.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pull orders for delivery.
• Unload incoming trucks.
• Receive material from vendors.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist with preparing shipments by ensuring items are properly packaged and labeled.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines.
• Clean and organize the lumber yard.
• Assist walk-in customers with loading their vehicles.
• Perform a pre-shift checklist of the forklift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
