About The Position

The Yard Porter supports the flow of vehicles through an outdoor yard by receiving, labeling, staging, and inspecting incoming units. The position includes reporting vehicle damage, updating inventory, and handling mis-shipped vehicles. The Yard Porter must follow OSHA, PPE, company, and health and safety requirements. The role is based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and follows a rotating schedule: Friday and Saturday from 6:45 AM to 4:45 PM, and Sunday and Monday from 6:45 PM to 4:45 AM. The pay rate is $18.28 per hour.

The work environment is an outdoor yard with exposure to weather, vehicles, chemicals, and equipment. The role requires the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment, lift more than 50 pounds, and work in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• A valid U.S. driver's license is required.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
• Must comply with PPE, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred; training is available.

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, and properly stage vehicles.
• Report vehicle damage to the Yard Lead immediately.
• Flag and stage mis-shipped vehicles according to instructions.
• Stage vehicles using FIFO procedures.
• Communicate yard flow or safety concerns.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with PPE, OSHA, company safety, and health and safety requirements.
