About The Position

The Yard Operations 1 position handles order picking, customer returns, material counts, truck loading and unloading, rental-equipment servicing, and general yard and warehouse duties. Frequent forklift operation is involved. The role also includes pressure-washing returned equipment and preparing it for operations, including repairs, painting, and related work to meet branding standards. Extensive training will be provided. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.

Requirements

1–2 years of experience in a yard, warehouse, or related work.
Mechanical aptitude.
Effective verbal communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work weekends and overtime as required.
Basic knowledge of inventory and related computer skills.
Emotional intelligence and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment daily.
Acceptable driving record to drive company pickups and non-CDL trucks.
Ability to pass a drug screening test.

Forklift operating experience.

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment and materials onto and off trucks, primarily by forklift and occasionally by hand.
Communicate identified safety or yard issues and requirements to the Yard lead.
Assemble trench boxes and other trench safety equipment.
Signal equipment operators to facilitate assembly of trench safety equipment.
Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
Operate hand and power tools as required.
Control traffic passing in and around the yard.
Touch up and repaint products as required to meet NTS branding standards.
Direct customers and answer customer-related questions.
Maintain yard cleanliness.
Perform other duties as required.
Pick orders, process customer returns, count materials, and service rental equipment.
Pressure-wash returned equipment and prepare it for operations, including repairs and painting.
