About The Position

Kent Companies is seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Manager to support its Traverse City, Michigan-based concrete construction team. The Yard Manager accurately fills orders for equipment, tools, formwork, and materials used by field operations. The role is responsible for confirming that each order meets customer expectations and is ready for delivery or pickup on time, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of equipment, formwork, and materials in the yard. The Yard Manager is expected to be proactive, aggressive, and efficient in accomplishing established goals and objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalence certificate.
• Familiarity with commonly used formwork, equipment, tools, and materials.
• Prior experience working in a high-performance, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to walk and work on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and in the shop building as needed.
• Ability to climb onto and off vehicles, heavy trucks, trailers, and equipment.
• Ability to operate equipment while seated on rough terrain infrequently.
• Ability to view overhead objects while seated for long periods frequently.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to lie down for long periods infrequently.
• Ability to wear a dust mask around nuisance materials.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A preferred.
• Reliable transportation to the workplace or job location.
• Ability to pass a driving-related background check if driving for the company.
• Ability to pass drug screening.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Safely, accurately, and efficiently process orders and prepare them for shipping by obtaining needed materials and tools from company inventory.
• Maintain equipment and tools so they remain safe and reliable.
• Maintain a clean and effective yard work area, storing materials and equipment in their designated areas.
• Use company systems and technology to track materials and equipment entering and leaving the yard, including Exaktime, Toolwatch, Samsara, and Spectrum.
• Track inventory levels and initiate timely restocking.
• Identify outdated materials and plan for their proper disposal.
