Yard Manager
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a scaffold yard. The role manages yard employees and temporary yard labor, promotes compliance with safety policies, and ensures equipment and paperwork are handled accurately. The Yard Manager reports directly to the Dispatcher, PC Operations Manager, or Profit Center Manager. The position includes training and developing yard personnel, maintaining organized and safe premises, monitoring yard equipment maintenance and inspections, and communicating inventory levels to management. The role may also involve other duties assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Two years of experience.
- Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors when required by the job.

Responsibilities
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Manage all yard employees and temporary yard labor.
- Inspect deliveries and returns to confirm equipment identification and accurate counts.
- Ensure accurate paperwork for all equipment movements.
- Receive incoming equipment, verify counts, inspect condition, and complete required paperwork.
- Keep equipment organized, including separating equipment requiring maintenance, equipment to be charged to customers, and rent-ready equipment.
- Ensure damaged equipment is repaired properly.
- Properly account for equipment to be charged to customers.
- Perform daily and weekly truck audits.
- Communicate inventory levels to management.
- Hold daily morning yard meetings to discuss objectives and safety issues.
- Monitor preventive maintenance of yard equipment and completion of daily inspections.
- Maintain safe, well-organized premises.
- Complete other duties assigned by the manager.
- Complete and understand Sunbelt's new-hire orientation and all required safety training.
- Train and develop yard personnel.
- Perform weekly housekeeping of the warehouse and exterior premises.
- Report unsafe acts.
- Attend all required safety meetings.
