About The Position

Pilot Lumber is seeking a Yard Leader for its Bellevue, Kentucky location. The role supports the Store Manager and helps ensure company standards and procedures are followed. It combines staff supervision and task delegation with hands-on yard work and customer service. The Yard Leader helps create a positive, efficient work environment and provides customers with fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of lumber yard management experience.
• Computer proficiency.
• Comfort working in an outdoor environment.
• Results-oriented, with the ability to serve stores with humility and uphold Nation’s Best’s values.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible.
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to consistently provide superior customer service.
• Ability to consistently lift 50–75 pounds and bend, twist, squat, and reach throughout the work shift.
• Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• CDL license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate tasks to staff, including opening and closing the yard, coordinating shift changes, and assigning tasks.
• Assist the Store Manager in ensuring company standards and procedures are met.
• Provide customers with fast, friendly, accurate, and safe service.
• Unload and load materials manually or with a forklift.
• Assist customers with loading lumber.
• Maintain inventory by labeling and placing materials and supplies in stock.
• Assist with inventory control by counting and organizing materials.
• Process checkouts and monitor the yard.
