About The Position
Powell Contracting is seeking a Day Labourer to join their Yard team in Stouffville. The company has been a leader in the supply and installation of temporary concrete barriers, noise barriers, crash cushions, guide rails, ground mount signs, overhead signs, and sign structures since 1967. They offer integrated solutions and streamlined project delivery strategies for a variety of projects. This role involves assembling parts, processing materials for shipment, general yard/warehouse maintenance, and performing duties safely and in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Labourer, ideally within the construction or material-handling environment.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in all weather conditions.
- Capable of regularly lifting 50 lbs or more.
- Proven ability to perform a wide range of tasks with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working year-round in varying outdoor conditions, including muddy, slippery, icy, or uneven surfaces.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating a skid-steer loader is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Assembling parts, big and small, for finished goods
- Process materials to prepare for shipment using different types of tools and equipment
- General maintenance of the yard/warehouse
- Demonstrating problem solving, planning, and organizing skills required
- Communicate well with co-workers, supervisors, other employees, and clients
- Perform duties in a safe manner and in compliance with all labour regulations and company policies
- Other duties as assigned
