This role is responsible for jockeying trailers and loading trucks as directed by a supervisor or foreman. The Yard Jockey will also be responsible for preparing for the day by completing vehicle condition reports and organizing the work area. Key duties include moving trailers between lot and dock doors, working with supervisors to move raw material loads, and installing/removing trailer stands. For trailer loading, the Yard Jockey will review bills of lading, complete final certifications for outbound loads, and handle out-of-stock items as directed. They will also wrap partial pallets, process paperwork in the National Inventory System (NIS) or hand it to a supervisor, and stage or load pallets into trucks. Cleanup duties include completing partial pallets, putting away mixed pallets, and maintaining housekeeping standards in the work area.
