The Yard Jockey is responsible for jockeying trailers under the direction of a supervisor or foreman, preparing for the day by completing VCRs and organizing the work area, moving trailers from the lot to dock doors and back, working with the foreman and supervisor to move raw material loads, and installing/removing trailer stands. The role also involves trailer loading, including reviewing BOLs, completing final certification for outbound loads, handling out-of-stock items, wrapping partial pallets, processing paperwork in NIS or handing it to a supervisor, and staging pallets or loading trucks. Additionally, the Yard Jockey is responsible for clean-up duties such as completing partial pallets, putting away mixed pallets, and maintaining housekeeping standards.
