About The Position
RSS Mobile Trailer Repair is hiring a Yard Jockey in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, yard-only driving position focused on moving 53-foot semi-trailers safely within a warehouse yard. The role involves navigating tight spaces, moving trailers in and out of loading docks, and parking them onsite. There is no over-the-road driving and no handling or unloading of merchandise; the employee stays onsite and is home daily. Starting pay is $22–$23 per hour, depending on shift. Pay increases are available after 90 days and one year of employment, based on performance and attendance. The listed schedules are Saturday–Monday, 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., or Saturday–Monday, 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Demonstrate spatial awareness and proficiency operating tractor-trailers.
- Prioritize safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate a yard tractor to drop and pull trailers in dock doors and park trailers onsite.
- Safely maneuver and back semi-trailers in the yard.
- Enter and exit semi-trailers multiple times an hour.
- Place and remove wheel chocks.
- Lift and open trailer doors.
- Follow safety procedures.
