About The Position

The Yard Helper performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production equipment while following safety and environmental regulations. The position follows a 12/2 schedule, working shifts of 10 or more hours and commuting daily to customer locations. The role includes oil and gas field maintenance, equipment and tool upkeep, repairs, housekeeping, and safely handling materials and service vehicles.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of oil and gas maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas maintenance processes.
• Ability to work overtime and holidays and be available for call-outs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of environmental and safe work practices.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs occasionally, 25–50 lbs frequently, and 10–20 lbs constantly.
• Ability to work at heights above six feet and balance on uneven surfaces.
• Physical capability for stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, standing, and reaching.
• Must use personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

• Oil and gas production operations experience; training is available for acceptable candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oil and gas field maintenance as instructed by the Foreman.
• Work with rigging and tag lines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in the shop.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct major and minor equipment repairs and report spills and leaks.
• Perform general housekeeping duties.
• Understand pipe sizing and accurately count pipe.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Follow, plan, and schedule daily activities as directed by the Supervisor.
• Safely load and unload service trucks and trash bins.
• Apply working knowledge of oil and gas repair policies and safe work practices.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic production equipment.
