About The Position

A Yard Driver is responsible for transporting trailers and products within the assigned area of responsibility. The role includes maintaining and inspecting the assigned vehicle, completing required records, handling materials, and complying with Department of Transportation safety regulations.

Requirements

• Possess a current and valid Class A CDL.
• Have a safe driving record, with no more than one accident or moving violation in the 12 months before the date of hire.
• Have at least 12 months of verifiable driving experience within the previous three years, defined as interstate operation of a Class A combination vehicle/tractor trailer.
• Be at least 22 years of age at the time of hire.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with electronic, on-board recordkeeping systems.
• Previous experience working in customer-facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
• Complete log books and other paperwork.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections.
• Report vehicle maintenance needs to appropriate management.
• Load and unload customers and/or vehicles as required.
• Maintain and clean the vehicle and assigned work area.
• Handle materials.
• Conform to all DOT safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
