About The Position

Applicants will be considered for the Yard Driver position. Yard Drivers will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of Tyson trucks and our customer’s trailers, following all plant policies and procedures. They will keep the truck clean at all times. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Dependable, works well with others, self-motivated
Willing to come in early and stay late when necessary
Minimum of 6 months experience driving heavy equipment or trucks preferred
Ability to communicate effectively
Must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet
Ability to bend, stretch, reach
Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors
Able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions
6 months non CDL driving work experience with one employer in the last 24 months
Worker history must be documented on application or resume
Must have a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed)
NO DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months
Rehires must have no more than 3 rehires and must wait 180 days

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or equivalent
Experience with trailers and tankers

Responsibilities

Safe and efficient handling of Tyson trucks and customer trailers
Following all plant policies and procedures
Keeping the truck clean at all times
Communicating effectively to receive work orders from the dispatcher over the radio
Relaying information to other co-workers
Reporting issues to management
Completing daily paperwork
Maintaining a clean work area by use of soap and high-pressure hose
Reading to complete required logs
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
Operating frontend loader, man lift, or forklift (certification required)
