About The Position

A Yard Hostler-NonCDL is an Operations Team Member in a non-driving position who moves and spots equipment within company property to help terminals and warehouses organize and process material for shipment, storage, or destruction. Duties may include trailer sanitation, moving equipment, conducting daily inspections, and ensuring timely movements while maintaining thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and equipment positioning. The role may also involve organizing vehicles in a WMHS yard so they are ready for unloading, loading, and transport. Yard Hostlers operate vehicles only inside company property and perform standard Plant Associate duties as required. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring strict compliance with safety rules and protocols. Candidates may be subject to drug and alcohol testing under applicable government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

Accredited high school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
0–1 year of experience.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Maintain radio or telephone contact with the dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions and schedule changes.
Report maintenance problems to Transportation or the Dispatcher for follow-up.
Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
Move and spot equipment within company property to support terminal and warehouse operations.
Perform trailer sanitation, equipment movements, and daily inspections as assigned.
Maintain timely equipment movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.
Organize vehicles in the WMHS yard so they are ready for unloading, loading, and transport.
Perform all Plant Associate job duties as assigned.
