About The Position

Yard Drivers will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of Tyson trucks and our customer’s trailers, following all plant policies and procedures. They will be responsible for keeping the truck clean at all times. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Dependable, works well with others, self-motivated.
• Willing to come in early and stay late when necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively to receive work orders, relay information, report issues, and complete paperwork.
• Must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
• Ability to bend, stretch, and reach.
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
• Must be able to read to complete required logs.
• 6 months non-CDL driving work experience with one employer in the last 24 months.
• Worker history must be documented on application or resume.
• Valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed).
• NO DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months.
• Must complete the final task separate from the application.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience driving heavy equipment or trucks.
• Experience with trailers and tankers.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient handling of Tyson trucks and customer trailers.

• Communicating effectively to receive work orders from the dispatcher over the radio.
• Relaying information to other co-workers.
• Reporting issues to management.
• Completing daily paperwork.
• Operating frontend loader, man lift, or forklift (certification required).
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintaining a clean work area by use of soap and high-pressure hose.
• Completing required logs.
