About The Position

Yard Drivers will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of Tyson trucks and our customer’s trailers, following all plant policies and procedures. They will keep the truck clean at all times. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

  • Dependable, works well with others, self-motivated.
  • Willing to come in early and stay late when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to receive work orders from the dispatcher over the radio, relay information to co-workers, report issues to management, and complete daily paperwork.
  • Must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to shovel, climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
  • 6 months non-CDL driving work experience with one employer in the last 24 months.
  • Worker history must be documented on application or resume.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record will be reviewed).
  • NO DUI/DWIs in the last 12 months.
  • Must complete the final task separate from the application.
  • Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days to be eligible for rehire.
  • Applicants who have worked at Tyson 3 times or more are not eligible for rehire.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience driving heavy equipment or trucks is preferred.
  • Experience with trailers and tankers.

Responsibilities

  • Reading to complete required logs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Operating frontend loader, man lift, or forklift (certification required).
